Chinese fruit cake (via xyzprincess)
Chinese fruit cake, not to be confused with Western fruit cake, is very light and fluffy sponge cake filled with layers of light cream (used as frosting too, I think it’s actually whipped cream) and fruit. I don’t like pastries much but I love this cake. My mom used to get it for me every birthday. Although that tradition disappeared with my allowance, I still try to eat it every chance I get. My cousin’s birthday is this Wednesday so I got her this fruit cake from Maria’s. We had a slice after dinner. It was as good as I remembered it.
