So after a bad and very long day, I was driving home from the metro station. It was too late to go home for dinner and I was jonesing for some Korean food. In spite of the long commute, I gladly live in Northern Virginia because I saw this Korean restaurant tucked away alongside the road right before RT-29 turns into Lee Highway (which is also Fairfax Blvd. which is also Arlington Blvd. which is also RT-50 …).
That’s all the sign said. Korean restaurant, and everything else was in Korean. I couldn’t tell you the name of the restaurant or anything on the menu or the delicious offerings posted on the walls. It was a tiny place and the only people there were single Korean men reading the newspaper or groups of 2 or 3 Korean men drinking and talking very loudly.
The waitress didn’t understand any of my questions in English. I gave up and pointed at the menu. Good thing I know what my favorites are in Korean.
Dinner was delicious. I gobbled up every last bit of everything in the picture. Normally, I don’t recommend eating Korean food by yourself (why limit yourself to only trying one thing when there are so many good things?) but sometimes it works. You don’t have to share. Hee.
